After spring break, Westtown students will head to the Belfry Lawn for one of the most anticipated events of the season: the Annual Volleyball Tournament. Organized by Westtown Students Demand Action, the tournament will serve as a fundraiser for Students Demand Action, a national student-led movement advocating for gun violence prevention.
This year’s tournament features a wide range of teams, each bringing their own energy and creativity to the competition. Teams competing include Los Therians, Defending Champs, philly rizz, We luv Venessa, Gurt + Miguel, Dream Team, Baby boos, stackboyz, and Los Maestros. With so many teams signed up, the tournament is expected to be both competitive and entertaining.
One of the teams to watch is Defending Champs, who won the tournament last year. Their roster includes Asher Biehn, who was named last year’s MVP for his standout performance on the court. Many students are excited to see whether the Defending Champs can hold onto their title or if another team will rise up to take the trophy this year.
Beyond the competition, the tournament is about bringing the Westtown community together for an important cause. All proceeds from the event will support Students Demand Action, helping fund student-led advocacy and awareness efforts.
Spectators are encouraged to attend the matches and support their classmates. Snacks will be sold at all games, giving fans something to enjoy while cheering on their favorite teams, with all purchases contributing to the fundraiser.
With exciting teams, returning champions, and a meaningful cause behind it all, the SDA Volleyball Tournament promises to be a fun and spirited way to kick off the weeks after spring break. Keep an eye on your email for the bracket that will be sent out over break!
